Job Description

Job Responsibilities

Store Management:

  • Provide weekly/monthly in-store sales strategies, monitor sales progress and take timely actions to maximize achievement of sales targets.
  • Perform sales responsibility as and when needed during manpower shortage.
  • Possess appropriate level of watch product knowledge including models, series, digital/analog features, etc.
  • Conduct thorough checks and periodically keep proper records of stocks to ensure accuracy and prevent stock discrepancies or pilferage.
  • Ensure proper tagging and pricing for items in the store.
  • Execute sales and promotional plans directed by corporate office.
  • Maintain conducive environment to give customers a pleasant shopping experience.
  • Build relationships with customers to gain customer’s trust and loyalty.
  • Handle customer queries based in urgency and criticality, solve complex issues and address escalate complaints received.
  • Report and work closely with the Area Executive to improve store operation and efficiency.
  • Process refund and exchange in accordance to established company policies.
  • Review and perform visual merchandising display to boost sales within company’s VM guidelines or instructions.
  • Liaise with landlord or shopping mall management where necessary.
  • Maintain minimum float in the store and ensure sales proceeds are banked-in on a regular basis and records are properly kept in accordance with Accounts’ requirements.
  • Ensure the housekeeping and safety of the store are secured, remain alert and respond quickly to security issues and emergencies.

Team Management

  • Lead and manage a team of retail staff and ensure smooth operation of the store.
  • Establish good rapport and teamwork with own team and support other teams where necessary.
  • Primary train and coach retail staff on store operational regulations, in-house rules, changes in procedures, new merchandise launches, promotions mechanics, etc.
  • Understand strengths and weakness of self and team members, prioritize in-store OJT training needs.
  • Evaluate learning goals and participate in exchange of knowledge with other stakeholders. Reflect on own results against career goals.
  • Ensure grooming, service quality, health of retail staff are taken care of.
  • Analyze customer engagements and feedback between retail staff and customer, provide constructive feedback to improve service level.
  • Handle conflicts, misconduct or disciplinary issues of retail staff in accordance with company policies or escalate to Area Executives, Sales Head or HR depending on the severity of the matter.
  • Demonstrate empathy towards the feelings of others and communicate clearly to avoid misunderstandings, influence and motivate others through own positive energy.

Reporting And Operational Support

  • Keep abreast and constantly understand competitor’s sales and promotional activities.
  • Collate information, analyze risk factors and develop proposed solutions and mitigation strategies where possible.
  • Perform root cause analysis of an issue and understand how it impacts on work areas.
  • Participate actively in Store-in-Charge meetings and contribute ideas to improve achievement of divisional targets.
  • Ensure comprehensive, accuracy and timeliness of reports submission.
  • Create synergy and sharing of experiences to benefit other retail teams.
  • Provide operational support to events when assigned by the company.

Job Requirements

  • At least a Diploma in sales and Marketing, retail management, business or related disciplines.
  • At least 5 years of experience in retail industry, including 3 years at supervisor level.
  • Self-driven, possess initiative, proactive and target oriented.
  • Proven track record in managing retail store and achievement of sales targets.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel (Intermediate level for data analytics and report preparation)
