Job Description

Our esteemed SME client is seeking a talented Site Engineer to join their team and contribute to their construction projects! They are looking for a qualified professional with a background in architectural, building, or civil engineering. As a Site Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing construction operations, managing materials, ensuring compliance, and fostering effective stakeholder communication. Your expertise in estimating costs, preparing tender documents, and providing contractual advice will be highly valued. Key Responsibilities

• Site Preparation and Management
• Conduct site setting out, levelling, and surveying activities.
• Verify the accuracy of plans, drawings, and quantities.
• Ensure that materials and workmanship meet specified requirements.
• Oversee the selection and procurement of materials and equipment.
• Propose cost-effective solutions for the project.

Stakeholder Coordination

• Collaborate with consultants, subcontractors, supervisors, planners, and quantity surveyors.
• Maintain regular communication with clients and their representatives.
• Attend meetings to provide progress updates.

Project Planning and Execution

• Manage day-to-day activities on the site, including supervision of labor and subcontractors.
• Plan work schedules and organize plant and site facilities to meet deadlines.
• Monitor quality control and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Prepare and submit required reports.
• Problem Resolution and Cost Management
• Address unexpected technical difficulties and resolve issues that arise during construction.
• Calculate costs for building and civil engineering projects, from initial estimations to final figures.
• Assist in the preparation of tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities.
• Advise on contractual claims and maintain awareness of relevant building contracts.

Qualifications

• Diploma and/or Degree in architectural, building, or civil engineering.
• Sound knowledge of health and safety regulations.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Prior experience in a similar role will be an advantage.
