Job Description

We are currently seeking a reliable and dedicated Kitchen Assistant to join our team. As a Kitchen Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting our chef in various culinary tasks and ensuring the smooth operation of the kitchen. Your primary responsibilities will include preparing ingredients, assisting with cooking tasks, handling skewering, and maintaining cleanliness in the kitchen area.

Responsibilities

• Assist the chef in preparing ingredients for cooking, including chopping, peeling, and measuring ingredients accurately.
• Support the chef during cooking activities by following instructions and performing tasks such as stirring, mixing, and seasoning dishes.
• Handle skewering tasks for grilling or presentation purposes, ensuring that the skewered items are properly prepared and presented.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in the kitchen area, including regular cleaning of utensils, equipment, and work surfaces.
• Adhere to food safety regulations and guidelines to ensure the safety and quality of food preparation.
• Assist in receiving and storing food deliveries, ensuring proper labeling and organization of ingredients.
• Collaborate with other kitchen staff members to ensure efficient workflow and timely preparation of meals.
• Follow instructions and guidelines provided by the chef or kitchen manager to maintain consistency in food preparation and presentation.
• Help with basic food assembly and plating under the supervision of the chef.
• Support in maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment, including disposal of waste and regular sanitation of surfaces.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a kitchen or culinary environment is preferred but not mandatory.
• Basic knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen equipment is desirable.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions accurately.
• Good physical stamina and the ability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy objects when required.
• Excellent time management skills to ensure efficient task completion in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills to collaborate effectively with the chef and other kitchen staff members.
• Willingness to learn and take on additional responsibilities as required.
